Three of the four Gonzales County municipalities — Gonzales, Nixon and Waelder — saw increases in sales tax allocations for August 2025 when compared to the prior year.

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for August, 5.2 percent more than in August 2024.

These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in April, May and June by quarterly filers.

Combined sales tax allocations for the month of August 2025 for all four municipalities were $333,882.19, up $23,838.57, or 7.69 percent, from the $310,043.62 received in August 2024 and $17,079.76 more than the $316,802.43 received during July 2025.
