Gonzales High School Assistant Principal Wendy Cox will serve as the interim Principal until further notice.
After concern regarding the recent absence of GHS Principal Michael Garza was expressed to the Inquirer, Gonzales Independent School District Public Relations Director Robin Trojack was reached for comment. Trojack, via email, stated that Garza’s absence is due to a personal matter that they cannot comment on.
“Mr. Garza is currently unavailable,” Trojack said. “This is a personal matter we can not comment about. Ms. Wendy Cox is currently in charge of the campus as the Interim Principal.”
Garza is a retired airman who has served as principal since July 2019. He has previously worked in Judson ISD and Seguin ISD. Garza's absence began Thursday, Jan. 14.
