Doctor to discuss COVID-19 responses at May 31 club meeting

The Great State Republican Club will host speaker Dr. Robin Armstrong at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 31 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 101 Market St., in Hallettsville. The public is invited to the free event.

The group is also taking part in the “Rise Up for Life” rally on Saturday, May 22 in downtown Hallettsville.

Armstrong, a Texas City, Texas native, will discuss COVID-19 and the ramifications of emergency policies.

Armstrong has been a guest on One America News Network, NewsMax, the Ingraham Angle on Fox News, the Glen Beck Radio Program, and the Ron Paul Podcast show.

He attended Texas A&M University and earned a degree in microbiology in 1991, and attended medical school, completing his residency at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

He has travelled on missionary journeys to Africa and Nicaragua, worked in inner city and youth ministries in addition to leading a men’s Bible study group and has been involved in his local church for many years to present.

His activities in grassroots republican politics include serving locally as a city chair, an election judge, a precinct chair while in his medical residency, a poll watcher, a convention delegate also at the district and state level as a Senatorial District Convention chairman, the State Republican Executive Committeeman (SREC) for Texas Senate District 11 and the Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. In June 2012 he was elected to the Republican National Committee (RNC) as Texas’ National Committeeman, where he serves today as Vice Chair of the Southern Region of the RNC, Rules Committee member, and on the Faith Advisory Board of the RNC.

Currently Dr. Armstrong serves on the Finance Commission of Texas where he was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott on April 2, 2019. The Finance Commission is the state regulatory agency for the banking industry and savings and loan industry.

Robin practices medicine in his home town and is an owner of Armstrong Medical Group which is a group of hospital and nursing home physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
