GoFundMe established for Kelley Loop fire victims

Firefighters from Gonzales, Belmont and Ottine responded to a house fire off County Road 342, also known as Kelley Loop, at about 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

It took several hours for crews to get the fire extinguished, but the home and all its contents were a total loss.

While reportedly no one was injured in the blaze, a couple living in the home, Rick Bivins and Megan Ainsworth, now has been left without their possessions. A GoFundMe campaign was begun by Kacie Henke of Gonzales to help the couple.

“I am trying to get them a little help to get them back on their feet,” Henke said on the GoFundMe page. “If you are able to donate anything please do or just keep them in your prayers as they sort through this devastating time. Thank you!”

As of Tuesday, Jan. 3, some $1,610 had been raised towards a goal of $5,000.
