Gonzales, Nixon-Smiley athletes compete in all-star games

The Gonzales Apaches and Nixon-Smiley Mustangs are well represented in the 2024 South Texas Coaches Association All-Star Games in Floresville Saturday, May 18.

The STCA All-Star game showcases all the senior athletes across South Texas in football, basketball, and volleyball.

--FOOTBALL--

The seniors’ Jesus Espino, Kade Dixon, and Luke Moses, of Nixon-Smiley, will play along side Gonzales seniors’ Landon Holub, Cole Duty, Davonte Smith, and Rocky Gallegos in the STCA East team under the coaching staff West Campus High School.

The STCA Football game kicks off at 7 p.m. to close out the All-Star games.

--VOLLEYBALL--

Lady Apaches senior Macy Sample will play for the East team under La Vernia head volleyball coach Danielle Coleman.

The STCA All-Star Volleyball game kicks off at 10 a.m.
--BOYS BASKETBALL--

Mustangs  seniors’ Kade Dixon and Carl White will play under Poth head basketball coach Stratton Frye for the East team boys basketball team.

The game tips off at noon.

--GIRLS BASKETBALL--

Lady Apaches senior Haley Cantu will play on the East team under Cuero head girls basketball coach Amy Crain.

The game tips off at 2 p.m.
