Have a ‘mashing’ good time at Fiesta Guacamole

The St. Patrick Community Church invites the whole family to enjoy the 42nd CCGAW (Catholic Community of Gonzales and Waelder) Fiesta Guacamole this Saturday, Sept. 3, starting at noon at the Waelder City Park.

Tickets are available for $4 before 7 p.m., and $8 after 7 p.m., at the gate. The event is free to kids 12 and under. Bring your family, an appetite, chairs, and your dancing moves.

Many fun events are planned for the day, including a soccer tournament for children seven to 12 years old, held at noon, with further information available by contacting Adrian Rangel at 830-203-7337.

The parade begins at 1 p.m. The raffle begins at 6 p.m. with many prizes in a live drawing. There will be a mechanical bull, jumping castle, games, face painting, and entertainment.

The big event, the Guacamole Mash, begins at 3 p.m with a menu that includes gorditas, mini tacos, tamales, snow cones, hamburgers, fajitas, aquas frescas, and cold beer.

The festival will feature DJ Reyna through the day, with Tejano music performed live throughout the evening. Artists will include Reyna Y Elegido, La Ezenzia Nortena, and Roadhouse Conjunto.
