Lady Apache FC places 11 on All-District Team, Four on Academic All-District

District 27-4A recently released its girls soccer All-District teams. Following a successful season that included a trip to the playoffs, the Gonzales Lady Apaches were rewarded with postseason accolades.

Senior Emma Hernandez was chosen as the Defensive Most Valuable Player, while freshman Bella Aguero was chosen as the Newcomer of the Year. Joining Hernandez and Aguero on the All-District First Team were juniors Nancy Nino, Carlee Ramos and Belen Leon.

All-District Second Teamers included seniors Paola Perez, Jazmine Izaguirre and Brittney Villegas, while senior Trinity Barr and freshmen Kassandra Matamoros and Yaritza Angel were given Honorable Mention.

In addition, four Lady Apaches were also selected to the Academic All-District team – Hernandez, Ramos, Aguero and Maria Vasquez. To qualify for Academic All-District, a player must maintain an average grade of 90 or higher for the semester their sport is played.
