Laura “Lala” Pena

Laura “Lala” Pena, 47 years old, passed away peacefully in her home on September 13, 2026. Laura was born on August 3, 1979, to parents: Robert Pena and Angela Macias Pena in Gonzales, Texas.

Laura was a beautiful bright person who was loved by all people and made friends everywhere she went. Laura is a graduate from Nixon-Smiley High School. Laura loved coloring pages, coloring was her favorite pass time. When she heard music, nothing stopped her from dancing. She always had a big, beautiful smile.

Laura is preceded by her father: Robert J Pena; brother: Philip J Pena; Grandparents: Jacob and Juanita Pena and Pablo and Guadalupe Macias.

Laura is survived by her mother: Angela Pena; sister: Veronica and “Ryan” Fahrig; brothers: Robert J Pena and Bobby J Pena; nephews: Emilio Espinal, Carlos Negron, and Gabriel Pena; niece: Aubrey Rose Pena; special friends: LaTanya, Yoli and Mary Lynn.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the St Philip Benizi Catholic Church, corner of Hwy 87 and Carpenter St., Smiley, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am to 10:00am, following with the Rosary at 10:00am. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Naveen Thumma at 10:30am. Interment will be at Smiley Latin American Cemetery.
