From Sunday, Jan. 24 to Saturday, Jan. 30, the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office made 15 arrests:

  • On Jan. 24, a Nixon resident was arrested on charges of public intoxication and released on order to appear.
  • A 45-year-old of unknown origin was arrested Jan.24 on charges of criminal mischief greater than $2,500, resisting arrest search or transport, and remains in custody of the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration Detainer on total bond of $25,000.
  • On Jan. 24, a Kingsbury resident was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 less than one gram and unlawfully carrying a weapon. They were released on a total $3,000 bond.
  • A San Antonio resident was arrested Jan. 25, on one charge of burglary of habitation, and released on $10,000 bond.
  • On Jan. 25, a Gonzales resident was arrested in the execution of a warrant on one charge of possession of marijuana less than two ounces. They were released on $500 bond.
  • A Leesville resident was arrested Jan. 27 in the execution of a warrant for continuous violence against family. They were released on $50,000 bond.
  • On Jan. 27 a Dallas resident was arrested was arrested in the execution of a warrant from the Grand Prairie Police Department on one charge of driving while intoxicated. They were released on $5,000 bond.
  • A Gonzales resident was arrested Jan. 27 on one charge of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2, less than one gram. They were released on $4,500 bond.
  • On Jan. 27, a Corpus Christi resident was arrested on one charge of burglary of habitation. They were released on $10,000 bond.
  • A Nixon resident was arrested on Jan. 28 in the execution of two local warrants. One warrant carries a charge of assault family/household member with previous conviction, while the other carries a charge of abandon endanger child int/know/reck/crim negligence. They were released on $17,000 bond.
  • On Jan. 28, a Cost resident was arrested on one charge of manufacture deliver controlled substance in penalty group 1 less than one gram. They were released on $5,000 bond.
  • A Luling resident was arrested Jan. 28 on four separate drug-related charges relating to penalty groups 1 and 2. They remain in custody with a total bond of $58,000.
  • On Jan. 28, a Houston resident was arrested on one charge of driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol level greater than 0.15. They were released on $4,000 bond.
  • A Gonzales resident was arrested Jan. 29 in the execution of a local warrant, which carried one charge of criminal trespass. They were released on $2,000 bond.
  • On Jan. 30, a Yoakum resident was arrested for a parole violation. They remain in custody without bond.

Gonzales Police Department

From Monday, Jan. 25 to Monday, Feb. 1, the Gonzales Police Department made four arrests, all being Gonzales residents:

  • A 43-year-old was arrested on one charge of possession of a dangerous drug on Jan. 26.
  • On Jan. 28, a 32-year-old was arrested on one charge of possession of controlled substance in penalty group 1.
  • On Jan. 31, a 19-year-old was arrested on one charge of public intoxication.
  • On Jan. 31, a 35-year-old was arrested on one charge of driving while intoxicated. 

Additionally, the department had 207 calls for service and 34 traffic violations. Cases investigated by the department during this time include:
