New and traditional activities planned for 2025 Come and Take It Celebration

Activities Coordinator Kasey Condel Rhodes has been pouring her heart and soul into this year’s Come and Take It Celebration — and it shows.

As the owner of Come and Organize It and 321 Pop Up, a Chamber board member, and a proud member of the Come and Take It Committee for the past three years, Kasey has a deep love for Gonzales and its traditions.

“This event means so much to me,” Kasey shared. “It’s about bringing our community together and giving families memories they’ll hold onto for years. I grew up looking forward to Come and Take It every year, and now I get to help shape it for the next generation. That’s a big honor.”

This year, Kasey is especially excited to roll out new activities for the community to enjoy. On Sunday, Oct. 5, families can step back in time with the Jurassic Dino Experience, an adventure kids (and kids at heart!) won’t soon forget.

The famous Lions Club Bingo is also making a return, this time with a fun new twist. Plus, a brand-new "Gown to Glory" Come and Take It Flag Sewing Contest will take place in partnership with the 4-H program, and a lively eating contest will add even more energy to the weekend.

The full schedule of events will be shared soon, and Kasey hopes everyone will mark their calendars. "We’re working hard to make this year’s Come and Take It special for everyone," she said with a smile. "I hope folks bring their family and friends, enjoy every bit of it, and soak in the magic of our town. There’s just nothing like Gonzales during Come and Take It weekend."

And don’t forget our traditional events, including the Classic Cruisers Car Show, Battle Reenactment at Pioneer Village, Museum Tours, DAR Memorial, Chicken Frying, Carnival, Golf Tournament, 5K Run, Arts and Craft vendors, and more!
