Nixon-Smiley cross country competes in district meet

The Nixon-Smiley country country teams competed in the district meet in Luling Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Cross country coach Trevor Johnson was proud of all the teams that competed in the final day of season.

“Although we did not have any runners advance to regionals, we competed well and even brought home some hardware! We brought home two District Championships, as our JV Boys and 8th Grade Boys dominated their respective divisions. We also had 12 individual runners receive medals for their top 10 finishes. I am very proud of these kids and the effort they put in this season. Please, if you see these kids tell them great job on a successful season and encourage them to keep working. We have bigger goals coming next year,” Johnson said.

The Nixon-Smiley cross country teams will return in Fall 2025.
