Pamela Gayle Mercer Davis, 78, of Gonzales, passed quietly into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Pam was born November 25, 1947, in Gonzales to Clifton Adrian Mercer and Doris Adrian Smith Mercer. She married John Weston Davis III on June 20, 1969, in Gonzales, Texas, and together they shared a loving marriage filled with family, friendship, and adventure.

During her high school years, Pam was active as a majorette in the Apache Band and was honored as the FFA Sweetheart. She had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be seen riding her horse, Victory, bareback and without reins, galloping freely with the wind. Pam cherished time spent fishing, hunting, and relaxing at the family cabin along the Guadalupe River, where she found peace in nature’s beauty.

Pam was a devoted “Daddy’s Girl” and lovingly cared for her parents and family members as their health declined over the years. She also enjoyed trips to casinos and horse races, always ready for a little excitement and fun.

Above all else, Pam was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She wholeheartedly supported her children in every endeavor, from FFA stock shows to raising show lambs and all the activities in between. Her family always came first, and her grandchildren were among her greatest joys.

Pam was a magnificent cook whose family will forever treasure memories of her fried chicken, lasagna, and chicken fried backstrap. She also had a special love for animals, especially her beloved dogs.

A woman of many talents, Pam designed the floorplans of both her current and previous homes entirely on her own, despite having no formal training in architecture or design. She and John were active members of the Luling Oil City Car Club and enjoyed many trips to Cruisin’ the Coast together. They were also among the original founding members of the annual Bop and Bash spring event, which brought thousands of people together throughout the years. Pam also had a lifelong fondness for Roy Rogers.

Pam is survived by her loving husband, John Weston Davis III; daughter, Mindy Gene Hinds and husband Jason; sons, John Weston Davis IV and wife Stacey, and Clifton Mercer Davis; grandchildren, John Weston Davis V, Zachary Stephen Davis, Caleb Joseph Phelps, and Kinley Gayle Phelps; and her sister, Glenda Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Alice Inez Rose Speer.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Longo officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Gonzales.
