GONZALES, TX — The Pilot Clubs of Gonzales and Shiner celebrated 104 years of Pilot International service this weekend by co-hosting the Texas District Pilot International South Fall Council, welcoming more than 60 Pilots and 30 Anchors from across Texas to Gonzales.
The weekend began Friday night with a welcome dinner at the Elks Lodge, catered by Koopman Catering, where members gathered in fellowship to kick off the event. Saturday’s sessions were held at Gonzales High School, and the Gonzales club expressed its appreciation to both the Elks Lodge and Gonzales ISD for their continued partnership and support in making the weekend a success.
Visiting Pilots and Anchors enjoyed their time in Gonzales, staying at local hotels, shopping downtown, and exploring the community’s historic charm throughout the weekend.
During the event, Gonzales Mayor Isaac Anzaldua presented a proclamation recognizing Founders Day and commending local Pilots for their ongoing service and community impact.
The Pilot Club of Gonzales also presented a $500 donation to the Texas District TBI Camp Foundation to help send adult traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors to camp, continuing the club’s long-standing commitment to brain health and safety initiatives.
Pilot International, founded in 1921, is a global service organization dedicated to improving communities through projects that promote brain health and safety, support individuals with special needs, and encourage youth leadership. Its youth division, Anchor Clubs, empower students to serve their schools and communities through hands-on service and leadership opportunities.
The weekend concluded with members reflecting on more than a century of friendship, leadership, and service through the Pilot motto: Do More. Care More. Be More.
