Forums are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Yoakum Community Center, 105 Huck St., Yoakum. Local candidates will be invited to participate in “meet and greets” at both forums.

Jan. 13 forum

Candidates will set up tables at 4 p.m. and doors open to the public at 5 p.m. There will be a meet and greet the candidates with light refreshments available from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The forum with questions begins at 6 p.m. for state and federal candidates, while local candidates will be recognized.

Invitations for participation in the forum have been sent to contested candidates for state and federal offices. Regional, district and local candidates have been invited to participate in the meet and greet.

State and federal candidates for U.S. District House 27 and State Representatives District 30 and other state candidates have confirmed. They will speak and be asked questions by a moderator.

Campaign, materials and signs will be available at federal, state and local candidates’ tables.

Feb. 7 forum
