The Spade & Trowel Garden Club is grateful for the continuing support from individuals, families and businesses for the lighting of the Stars at the Gonzales Memorial Museum.
The Garden Club maintains the stars around the fence to light up the evening with a glow from the Stars for the holiday season. The club does this annually with help from individuals, families and businesses that honor or remember friends and relatives, honor Gonzales or many community features.
Each star is made up of 60 lights and contributions will light a star to make the city really glow with excitement during the holiday season. The club has many exciting plans ahead; some of their past projects include:
• The mural at the Robert Lee Brothers Jr. Memorial Library
• The Star sculpture and benches in the gazebo at Market Square
• The Kerr Creek Park gazebo
• The lighting and landscape of the Old Jail and Courthouse grounds
• The ongoing preservation and restoration of the Gonzales Memorial Museum
• The Yard of the Month project
• Secured a grant for the Butterfly Garden
The club is pleased to accept contributions for the lighting the stars around the fence at the Memorial Museum. Each $1 of your contribution is a light on a star. Each star is made up of 60 lights and your contribution of $60 or more will light a complete star.
