Unauthorized teen on GHS campus apprehended

Gonzales High School campus police responded to reports of an unauthorized teenager on campus the morning of Thursday, April 23. 

According to a statment from GHS Interim Principal Wendy Cox, the teenager left a backpack on campus and fled from campus officials. The backpack was secured and the teen was apprehended. 

Investigations into the situation by campus police is ongoing. 

Here is the statement that was sent out to parents, provided by District Public Relations Manager Robin Trojcak:

"Good Afternoon Gonzales High School Parents and Students,

Today campus police and administration responded to an unauthorized teenager on campus. When confronted, the teenager ditched a backpack and fled from campus officials. The teenager was apprehended and the backpack was secured. Campus police are investigating the situation and clearing all rumors. 

The safety of our students is our number one priority. We investigate all threats as if they are real. At this time, we have no evidence to believe there is any credible threat. If we have additional information, we will share it with you.
