Vandy Van Epps joins Gonzales Inquirer as staff writer

New town, a new adventure and a new chapter in my journalism career.

My name is Vandeline (Vandy) Van Epps (she/her pronouns), and I am the new reporter for the Gonzales Inquirer.

I was born in Washington state and have been living here in Texas since my freshman year of high school in Pleasanton, Texas.

I’ve been it the journalism field for more than five years; I started as intern at Local Community News in San Antonio and was a reporter for three years in Port Lavaca, Texas, for its newspaper.

I graduated from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in 2017.

I covered a lot during my career; covering high school sports, city council meetings, commissioners court, local events and so much more.

I am looking forward to covering historical Gonzales and Gonzales County; my minor was in history and the best way to learn history is your local newspaper.
