Hector J. Amaya Sr.

Hector J. Amaya, Sr. passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on January 8, 1949, in Robstown, TX to Juan and Blasita (Cisneros) Amaya. Hector was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roel Amaya; nephews, J.R. Amaya and Jesse Lara, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Magee. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lamar (Gaytan) Amaya; children, Jessica Ann Amaya, Hector Roman Amaya, Elijah “Ligee” Amaya, and Rebekah “Becky” Rene Smith (Shannon); grandchildren, KaSandra “Nikole” Maldonado, Gabrielle “Gabbi” Chudej, Abigail “Abby” Rocha (Logan), Rebekah “Bekah” Page (Treon), Isaiah Page, Deanna Chloe Amaya, Cali Smith, and Chance Beau Smith, great-grandchildren, Kai, Jocelyn, Hazel, Mason, Madilyn, Andreas, and Aria; siblings, Ramona Lara, John Amaya (Beatrice), Aida Camarillo (Johnny), Rene Amaya (Erlinda), Velma Aguirre (Pat), Grace Bishop (Joel), and Cindy Santos (Bobby); sister-in-law, Nancy Amaya; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel- Nixon and a Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at the funeral home.
