Ever wanted to know what it was like to spend Christmas in jail? Well, now you can find out! Just ask Sandra, the Home Tour docent at the Gonzales Old Jail Museum, as she shares the space and the stories of what it was like to live — and celebrate Christmas — in the historic jail during the upcoming Historic Home Holiday Tour this second Saturday in December.
Enjoy a true Christmas gift from the Gonzales Historic Homes Association on Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2025, from 2 to 6 p.m. This year’s tour is free, celebrating and showcasing 200 years of Christmas in Gonzales. The Historic Homes Association is hosting a free and open-to-the-public Historic Holiday Tour featuring six of the most interesting, beautifully decorated, history-rich properties in Gonzales, Texas.

After touring, be sure to follow “Santa’s Not to Be Missed List” to Pioneer Village for their annual Stars in the Village evening. Experience a true Texas Christmas with the unique activities only Pioneer Village can offer. You can stroll through the twinkling lights from 6 to nearly 9 p.m., then still catch the Texas Legacy in Lights shows each night on the facade of the Gonzales Memorial Museum at 8:25 or 9:15 p.m.
