Early voting starts today


Early voting for the City of Gonzales General Municipal Election has begun, as of today, Monday, April 19.

There will be seven days allowed for early voting. Early voting will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from April 19 to 23, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 26 to 27.

Voting will be held at the City of Gonzales City Hall, at 820 Saint Joseph St.

Attached are copies of sample ballots issued by the City of Gonzales for each voting district. 

In District 1, there is an unopposed candidate for City Council, Joseph "Poochie" Kridler. In District 2, Johnnie R. Hunt, James H. Lawrence, and Sherri Tumlinson Koepp are competing for a council seat. 

All four districts will be voting on amendments to the charter, as described in previous reporting by the Inquirer.
