Gonzales ISD Apaches hit their mark at state shooting competition

Posted

Twelve outstanding Apaches competed in the Texas Ag Clays 381 State Shooting Competition on June 9–10 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

Students who take part in the Wildlife, Fisheries, and Ecology Management curriculum and the iCEV Ducks Unlimited Ecology Management program — taught by the incredible Gonzales High School Ag Science teachers through FFA classes — get the opportunity to participate in this extracurricular shooting program. Not only does it build real-world skills and teach ethics and safety, it also extends the classroom into hands-on learning.

This year, 27 school districts from across Texas participated — and the Apaches made a huge impact!

• Fifth Place Mixed Trap Team: Coy LaBuhn, Joelee Lester, Slayden Boehm, and Layton Ervin
