Lady Apaches look to reset after tough tournament stretch

The Gonzales Lady Apaches are looking to turn the page after a challenging run through early-January tournament play.

Gonzales opened the week with a 3–0 loss to Sweeny on Jan. 1 before returning to action in tournament play on Jan. 2, where the Lady Apaches dropped a pair of matches — a 1–0 decision to Sealy and a 6–1 loss to Venus. The road stretch continued Jan. 5 with an 8–0 loss at Clemens.

Despite the recent results, Gonzales remains focused on regrouping as district play approaches. The Lady Apaches will look to snap the skid Thursday, Jan. 8, with a road match at Elgin before heading into another tournament this weekend.

Fans will get their first chance to see the Lady Apaches at home when Gonzales opens its home slate Jan. 20 at Apache Stadium.
