Up to 145 new jobs will be created in Gonzales with the construction of a structural building material operation by Synergos Companies, an innovative home industry corporation with a business model focused on integrating construction projects.
Synergos and Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway (TXGN), a subsidiary of TNW Corporation, closed this past week on 28 acres of rail-served property where Synergos will build its new facility. Construction on the facility is expected to begin in the coming months, with operations slated to commence by 2026.
The project results from a collaborative effort between Synergos, TXGN, the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the City of Gonzales, Gonzales County and GVEC. Parties invollved say this partnership “has been instrumental in bringing this transformative initiative to fruition.”
“We are excited to welcome Synergos to Gonzales, where the commitment to creating 145 phased-in jobs will provide a significant boost to our local economy and workforce,” said GEDC executive director Susan Sankey.
“This marks a major milestone in the ongoing efforts to foster economic growth and offer new opportunities for the residents of Gonzales and the region. The vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment of our partners is a vital collaborative effort for community success. Thanks to an entire team involved in getting this across the finish line. We wish everyone great success.”
The new facility underscores Synergos’ commitment to innovation and economic growth in the region.
“At Synergos, we are committed to fostering meaningful growth in the areas we serve. Gonzales offers the perfect blend of opportunity to bring this vision to life,” stated Rich Gallagher, chief executive officer of Synergos Companies.
“This new facility represents more than just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in people, partnerships, and the community. We are proud to work alongside TXGN Railway, the Gonzales EDC, and the City and County of Gonzales to create a project that strengthens operations and the community's economic vitality.”
TXGN owns and manages 12 lead miles of track between Harwood and Gonzales, and approximately 67 miles of storage and loop track in Gonzales. TXGN, a short line railway that interchanges with the Union Pacific, has played a vital role in the region’s integrated supply chain services since 1992. This alliance emphasizes the commitment of local industries and infrastructure providers to foster economic development. Additionally, the Synergos facility will be rail-served by TXGN Railway, ensuring efficient transportation and logistics support for its operations.
“TXGN Railway is very pleased to welcome Synergos to Gonzales, Texas,” said Joey Evans, director of business support and development for TXGN. “This long-term alliance promises to strengthen the local and regional communities’ economies and growth, and grow our business.”
