The Waelder Wildcats saw their 2024-25 season come to an end after they fell in bi-district play to the Fayetteville Lions, 82-38, on Monday, Feb. 17 at Columbus High School.

The Wildcats (7-22 overall) entered the game as the second seed in the Division I playoff from District 30-A after finishing in a tie for second place in the district as all seven Waelder wins came in district action. Fayetteville (25-8) was undefeated in District 29-A and was that district’s top seed in the playoffs.

Despite the loss, Waelder fans can take solace in knowing the team kept alive a postseason appearance streak that has extended more than 15 seasons in a row.
