Young Texians to commemorate the ‘Old 18’

The Young Texians will perform for the 186th anniversary of the Gonzales Chapter Sons of the Republic of Texas.

Please join them on the banks of Guadalupe where it all started, in the tiny park on the right hand side of U.S. 183, immediately past the bridge. The commemoration ceremony of the Old 18 will take place this Wednesday, September 29 at 5 p.m.

The Young Texiansalso  will perform for the first time ever at the Come and Take It Celebration in Gonzales at noon Saturday, Oct. 2, on the grounds between the Riverside School and the pavilion at Market Square.

Join the Young Texians and representatives from the Alamo and beyond. The Young Texians will tell the tale, in song and verse, of The Old 18 who fired the first shot for Texas Independence and of the wives and daughters who shared their belief in freedom.
