SEGUIN — The Gonzales golf teams traveled to Seguin to take on the Navarro-hosted tournament at Starcke Park. The boys’ team won the tournament while the girls’ placed third. The start is promising for both teams, especially for the boys’ side since it’s one of the best starts they’ve had in a long time, according to head coach J Lynn Barnick.

The Apaches totaled to 338 strokes, beating out Blanco at 351, Wimberley at 369, Navarro at 376 and Canyon Lake at 406. Jake Barnick led the way with his fourth-place finish of 82 strokes. Mason Richter took fifth at 83, Tristan Riley sixth and 84 while Kolby Kifer and Wade Miller finished with a score of 89 each.

The Lady Apaches also had a good tournament, winning third place. Kiley Allen medaled third overall. Other golfers include Bre Wolff, Ashlynn Stewart and Rebekah Baker.
