Cardinals shut out St. Gerard

SAN ANTONIO — Shiner St. Paul completely dominated their game Friday against San Antonio St. Gerard, beating the Royals 63-0 in the contest.

The Royals were limited to a total 0 yards rushing and 0 yards passing while the Cardinals ran the ball 22 times for 340 yards.

Leading the team in rushing was Conor Kresta and Austin Barton who both had 88 yards rushing and one touchdown each. Barton threw the ball three times, completing it twice for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

Other players with touchdowns include Tre’Zell Jenkins-Perry who ran the ball twice for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Carson Reese ran the ball six times for 55 yards and a score. Reid Yackel ran it four times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Darilek caught a 32-yard touchdown and Ryan Bell had a 29-yard touchdown completion. Eudosio Garza returned an interception for a touchdown from 35 yards out.

Shiner St. Paul will take on their rivals this Friday at home, facing Hallettsville Sacred Heart for a designated “Parent’s Night.”
