ABILENE — Gonzales County has an eye out on the Texas High School Rodeo Association’s (THSRA) state final as four cowboys are competing at the rodeo for their shot at not only representing the county in the national stage, but the state of Texas as well.

Gonzales’ Kameron Glass took on bull riding on Tuesday morning and Wednesday night but unfortunately could not get the time he needed to get a ride. He did not score in both tries.

Meanwhile, Cullen Eppright from Cost has a first-go time of 12.260 seconds. The time wasn’t enough to get to the top-10 with Granbury’s Paden Bray taking 10th with his time of 9.630. Byer’s Hagen Houck was timed at 8.400, good for first place.

Eppright has another go this morning.

Harwood’s Jasper Jeffrey also competed in calf roping as he took on the event Tuesday morning and Wednesday night. He no-timed both go’s.

Gonzales’ Miles Svoboda took on steer wrestling on Tuesday afternoon, timing in at 9.920 seconds. The 10th-place finisher was Bridgeport’s Brett Stuart who finished at 6.360 seconds. First place in that go was Tanner Green out of Cotulla, timing in at 3.990 seconds.

Svoboda no-timed his second go Wednesday night.
