Shiner St. Paul splits games in tournament

Schulenburg 51, Shiner St. Paul 61

It took overtime to do so but the Lady Cardinals were able to beat Schulenburg 61-51, outscoring the team 15-5 in overtime. Emma Morgan led the team in scoring with 19 points. She also had a team-leading eight rebounds as well as one steal. Parker Clay had 11 points, six rebounds and three steals. Gracey Novosad led the team in steals with six, adding seven points and a team-leading five assists to the stat sheet as well. The Lady Cardinals combined for 21 steals that game. 

Shiner St. Paul 47, Port Aransas 38

The Lady Cardinals took down Port Aransas 47-38. St. Paul led the first quarter 10-7 then added to their lead with a 17-16 second quarter. Port Aransas had a 7-6 third quarter advantage before St. Paul finished the game with a 14-8 fourth quarter.

Gracey Novosad led the team in scoring with 12 points. She also had one assist, three rebounds and two steals. Christine Wagner had eight points, three rebounds and one steal. Grace Irvin had six points, two assists, three rebounds and two steals. Parker Clay led the team with three steals, also adding four points and a team-leading five rebounds to the stat sheet.

Yoakum 39, Shiner St. Paul 35

Shiner St. Paul lost a tight game to Yoakum, with eight total lead changes throughout the game and the largest lead just five points. Yoakum would escape with a 39-35 win over the Lady Cardinals.

Emma Morgan led the team in scoring with 13 points. She added two rebounds and one steal to her totals.

Shiner St. Paul 30, El Paso 44

The Lady Cardinals lost to El Pass 44-30 to end their tournament bid. Leading the team in scoring were Krystin Hodges and Grace Irvin, each with four points. Hodges also had two rebounds. Gracey Novosad had four points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Christine Wagner had four points, one assist, five rebounds and three steals.
