Allie Sue Gottwald

Allie Sue Gottwald of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away on August 4, 2022 at the age of 82.

Allie Sue was born in Luling, Texas on June 2, 1940 to Norwood H. Gottwald, Sr. and Artie Hoover Gottwald. She was a 1957 graduate of Gonzales High School and graduated from the University of Texas in 1961.

She started her career as a home demonstration agent in Texas in Cuero and Boerne. Later, she moved to Lubbock and travelled extensively working for the Dairy Council. She also worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico where she was employed by New Mexico State University as an Extension Specialist serving all the counties in the state.

Allie Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Norwood H. Gottwald, Jr. and her sister-in-law Evelyn Gottwald. Survivors are her nephews Darrell of Harwood and Kenneth and wife Sue of Gonzales. Also surviving are 3 grand nephews, their spouses and 5 great grandnieces and 1 great grandnephew.

A celebration of Allie Sue’s life was held in Las Cruces, New Mexico on October 16, 2022.

A memorial will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at The First United Methodist Church Chapel in Gonzales, TX at 10:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Matt Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Harwood Masonic Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandnephews Ross, James and Steven Gottwald.

Memorials may be made to the Harwood Cemetery Association or the Harwood Community Center.
