Chamber banquet also will celebrate Texas independence

Posted

There will be no more fitting place to celebrate Texas independence and the accomplishments of the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture than at this year’s banquet, aptly named the Texas Independence Ball.

This Texas-themed gala will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the JB Wells Expo Center, 2301 County Road 197, Gonzales. Attire for the event is Texas chic, so break out your bolos, polish up your boots, shine up your turquoise, freshen up that fringe and straighten out your Stetson.

The evening will kick off with cocktail hour featuring Texas cocktails and Texas beers, followed by a Texas BBQ dinner, a silent and live auction and the distinguished awards ceremony. There also will be a live performance by the Hot Texas Swing Band so you will definitely want to mosey on out to the dance floor to two-step with your sweetie!

Recipients of the Community Service Award and David B. Walshak Lifetime Achievement Award will also be named. The Community Service Award is an annual award given to an individual, business, or organization for meritorious service in one or more of the categories below:

• Historic Preservation

• Promotion of the Arts

• Education

• Commerce/Industry

• Youth Motivation

• Volunteer Work

The David B. Walshak Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a person who has proved worthy of distinction in the Community. This Lifetime Achievement Award is appropriately named after a man who gave of himself unselfishly to his family, friends, church, and community.

Tickets are on sale now. Gold First Shot tables will seat 10 for $650 and includes your company or personal name on the welcome banner and Chamber program, some premier seating and highlights on social media. The Silver First Shot tables run you 10 for $550 and includes reserved seating and highlights on social media as well.

Meanwhile, individual tickets are $50 each for members, while non-member tickets are $65 per person

The Chamber is looking for help from its membership to make this a successful event and is looking for donations for the auction in the form of products or services from member businesses. Funds raised will help the Gonzales Chamber and all donations are greatly appreciated.

A donation can be something as simple as a gift certificate to your business or anything you choose to donate for the auction. In exchange, your company logo image, name, address, phone number, and donation will be listed on the Chamber Facebook page and Instagram. Your logo image will be listed with the donation during the auction.

Funds raised during our annual banquet go to support the mission of the Chamber of Commerce: “To promote community prosperity by providing services and advocacy for our members.” It helps to provide high-quality networking events, ribbon-cuttings, and events that contribute to the prosperity and economy of the community.
