Come and Take It Dance presents third annual production of ‘The Nutcracker’

Step into a magical world of enchantment and wonder as Come and Take It Dance proudly presents the third annual production of “The Nutcracker!” This beloved holiday tradition will grace the stage of The Crystal Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 4 at noon and 7 p.m., and on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” this timeless ballet follows the journey of a young girl, Clara, who befriends a Nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve. Together, they embark on a fantastical adventure filled with daring battles, enchanting snowfalls, and a visit to the mesmerizing Land of Sweets.

Synopsis of the ballet

The story begins on Christmas Eve at the Stahlbaum house, where a festive party sets the stage for the arrival of godfather Drosselmeyer, a mysterious clockmaker with magical surprises. He gives Clara a beautiful Nutcracker, which becomes the highlight of the evening. Later that night, Clara sneaks back to check on her cherished gift and finds herself swept into a battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King.

With courage and a slipper in hand, Clara helps the Nutcracker triumph, transforming him into a handsome prince who takes her on a journey to the Land of Snow and the Land of Sweets. The story concludes with dazzling dances from around the world and a heartfelt Pas De Deux by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
