Cuero man charged with aggravated assault in stabbing

A Cuero man remains in jail following his arrest for allegedly stabbing another man Sunday, Jan. 22.

Cuero Police responded to a reported stabbing in the 300 block of West French Street at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrives on scene, they found a 28-year-old male victim who had been stabbed during a physical altercation inside a residence.

The victim was treated on scene by Cuero Regional Hospital EMS and the transported to the airport and then via helicopter to a San Antonio hospital for further treatment. He was listed as stable at the time of transport.

Juan Gabriel Miranda-Escobar, 38, of Cuero, was then taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the DeWitt County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
