Every year, fiddlers frolic to Hallettsville to take part in the Fiddlers Frolics, which is always held the fourth weekend in April. This year is no different as it will take place April 25-27 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 321 U.S. 77 Hallettsville.
This is the home of the Texas State Championship Contest, where the best fiddlers from in and outside of Texas come to show off their skills in a bid to win the grand prize. However, the devil is not allowed to compete after his disqualification against Johnny in Georgia, so there will be no shiny fiddles made of gold up for grabs this or any other year.
Now in its 55th year, this competition started in 1971 and attracts lots of music lovers: professionals, amateurs, or those looking for some good music and a good time.
