Flatonia defeats Gonzales, 13-2, after scoring 11 unanswered runs

The Flatonia Bulldogs broke open a 3-2 ballgame with seven runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to defeat the Gonzales Apaches, 13-2, on Monday, Feb. 24.

The Apaches managed just two hits and committed 12 errors in the game as they dropped to 0-2 on the season. After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, Gonzales tied the game in the bottom of the inning at 2-2. Flatonia would answer with a run in the top of the second and hold that 3-2 lead until the sixth.

Colt Robinson went 1-for-3 with a two-run single, while Nathan Castillo went 1-for-2, stole a base and scored a run. Castillo started the game on the mound and took the loss, allowing three earned runs in two innings pitched while walking three and striking out four. Robinson pitched three innings and allowed three unearned runs, walked two and struck out four. Ckristopher Ramos pitched two scoreless innings

Others taking the mound included James Sanchez, who allowed three unearned runs in an inning, walked three and struck out two; Brodi Ramos, who pitched a third of an inning, allowing four runs (three earned), walking two and striking out one; and Ckristopher Ramos, who pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning and struck out one.
