Francisco Revilla “Frank” Cimental

Francisco Revilla “Frank” Cimental, 84, of Gonzales, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022.  He was born January 29, 1938 in McQueeney, Texas the son of Cleofas and Apolnar Revilla Cimental. 

  He grew up in Kingsbury and graduated from Prairie Lea High School.  After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served for four years.  He later joined the Texas National Guard and served an additional 16 years. 

 Frank had a long career in law enforcement and joined the Uvalde Police Department and later the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office.  He became Chief of Police for the Southwest Junior College where he spent the rest of his career.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Earlene Cimental of Gonzales; daughters: Theresa Guillen and husband Jesse of Seguin, Lina Limones of Poteet, Mary Cimental and Tim of Iowa and Tracie Quiroz of San Marcos; step-daughter Becky Kidd of Gonzales; step-son in law Valde Barrera of Gonzales; brothers: Basilio “Chilo” Cimental and wife Mary of Seguin, Caytano Cimental and wife Irene of Seguin and Raul Cimental and wife Suzanne of Hico; sisters: Magdalena Sanchez of San Antonio, Alicia Morales of San Antonio and Olga Ledezma and husband Pete of Seguin; 13 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 12 step=greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Annie Caddell, step-daughter Evelyn Barrera and step-son Allen Moore.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Seydler-Hill with interment following at the Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Arnold Lopez, Jr., Alonso Quiroz Jr., Matthew Hart, Mattie Cimental, Jesse Guillen and Robert Ledezma.  Honorary pallbearers: Xavier Kidd, Leland Kidd and Leland Damyan Kidd.
