Frank Clay Pivoda, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, March 16, 2022. He was born September 1, 1938, at Green Cross Hospital in Luling, Texas to Ora Lee Thompson Pivoda and Rudolph James Pivoda, Sr.   He graduated from Luling High School, Class of 1956.

Frank married Marva Lynn Watts on November 14, 1970.  They were married for 35 years, until her death in 2005.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He had a giving heart and always put his family and friends first. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or help in any way he could.

Frank was a lifelong resident of Luling. He was a co-owner of Pivoda Bros. Construction in Luling for many years with his brother John David.  They were well known in Luling and surrounding areas for their quality work and craftmanship. It is probably true to say that there aren’t many houses in Luling that Pivoda Bros. didn’t work on at one time or another. He was very unhappy about retirement and continued to tag along to ‘supervise and consult’ with Clay, his son, who continues to work in the business. He also taught his grandsons all they were willing to learn about construction.

Frank was also a local golfer for many years. We were always able to find him at the golf course. He was a regular at all the local tournaments and through the years, after he “retired” from golfing, he was still always there leaning on the fence, visiting with people at the tee box or driving down the dead-end road looking for golf balls. He was a regular at Luling BBQ where he would sit outside at the picnic tables drinking coffee and visiting with his group of friends and all the locals as they came and went.

Frank is survived by his son Frank Clay Pivoda, Jr. and wife Carmen of Seguin, daughter Ginger Easterling of Luling, Grandchildren; Dylan Easterling, Dalton Harrington, Erin Easterling Boyd and husband Britt, Karlie Clendenen and husband Ethan, Kyra Prukop, Christian Pivoda, Megan Easterling and Ethan Easterling, Great grandchildren; Bryn Boyd, Ruxton Clendenen, Nicholas Clay Pivoda, Jr., Brooks Boyd, Sister, Sylvia Pivoda Mercer of Gonzales, and brother, John David Pivoda and wife Dana of Dripping Springs, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Marva, grandson Nicholas Clay Pivoda, Sr. his parents and his brother Rudolph James ‘RJ’ Pivoda, Jr.

Services will be held on April 9, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Central Baptist Church, 515 S Magnolia Ave, Luling TX. A celebration of life will follow at the Luling Civic Center, 333 E Austin St, Luling TX.
