Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministry (GCAM) has quietly but consistently served Gonzales County for more than three decades. It offers food relief and essential items to those in need.
Located at 708 St. Louis St. in Gonzales, GCAM distributes free food boxes three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. to those who live in the county. Through the support of generous donors and local stores, the ministry is able to provide food assistance to individuals and families across Gonzales county.
In addition to its food ministry, GCAM operates a thrift store — a resource many in the community may not realize exists. The store recently underwent renovations and will celebrate its grand reopening on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community members are invited to attend.
GCAM accepts food, clothing, small household items and monetary donations year-round. Donors are kindly asked to bring items during business hours, as donations placed in white bins outside are collected by a third-party vendor and do not benefit GCAM directly.
The board and employees of GCAM extend their sincere thanks to all their partners, volunteers, and donors who have supported the ministry in any capacity over the years.
