Glow big or Go Home: Morgan Fun Run returns for third annual event

The annual Morgan Fun Run returns for its third annual event Saturday, April 22, at Independence Park.

All proceeds from the event will go towards Morgan Farrar Memorial Scholarship that is awarded annually to two Gonzales High School seniors.

Event organizer Sarah Farrar, mother to Morgan — who would have been senior this year  — said on the event’s Facebook page she knows the Gonzales High School Class of 2023 will make this year’s Fun Run “a big one” in her daughter’s memory.

Farrar said this year’s theme is “Glow Big or Go Home” where there’ll be black lights, glow bracelets and glow necklaces.

“Since 2018, we've given right at $15,000 to GISD students and we give two girls a $700 scholarship. Seven was her softball number, seven was her favorite number. So we decided on $700 to give to the students,” Farrah said.

People can register and make donation at event from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. or pre-register before event; Cash, check and venmo payments are accepted.
