Gonzales Main Street hosts annual Star-Spangled Spectacular

Let freedom ring on Thursday, July 4, when Gonzales Main Street presents its annual Star-Spangled Spectacular Fourth of July from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Independence Square downtown.

There will be food trucks, live music and a fireworks show that will make you swear you see the “rockets red glare” when they’re “bursting in air.”

Children’s activities include a patriotic bike decorating contest and parade sponsored by VFW Post 4817, balloon animals, water slides, a petting zoo and more.

The music kicks off at 5 p.m. with DJ Buddy spinning the hits until 7 p.m., when John Brewer, a New Braunfels singer-songwriter, will take the stage and perform until about 8:15 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., Dawson Debord of Yoakum, who is no stranger to Gonzales audiences, will entertain until 10 p.m.

The fireworks show begins at dark. And you can get your drink on with your favorites from the 5D Travelin’ Tavern.

Other sponsors include GVEC, City of Gonzales, BYK, H-E-B, TXGN Railway, CREW Men’s Store, DuBose Insurance, Energy Waste Rentals and your Gonzales Inquirer.
