Highway improvement contracts awarded in Austin, Fayette, and Gonzales counties

At its April 24 meeting in Austin, the Texas Transportation Commission awarded maintenance and improvement projects in TxDOT’s Yoakum Districts to Austin, Fayette, and Gonzales Counties for a district total of $11,782,157.14.       

Gonzales County

STX Civil out of Laredo, Texas was awarded the $5,381,995.91 contract for drainage improvement project, replace drainage structures and upgrade guardrail from FM 1680 to Fayette County Line.

Austin County

Texas Materials Group, Inc. of Austin, TX. was awarded the $4,364,003.24 contract for rehabilitation of existing roadway from FM 1094 to FM 2187.

Fayette County

Trevway, Inc. of Katy, Texas was awarded the $2,036,157.99 contract for bridge replacement and roadway approaches on CR 320 Kruppa Rd at Williams Creek Tributary.

As these projects begin, motorists are urged to stay alert and reduce speed near and through work zones, obey all traffic control and be aware of workers and moving equipment throughout all work zones.

Exact construction start dates on these projects and related traffic detours have not yet been determined.
