Janie M. Garcia

Janie M. Garcia, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend went peacefully to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Janie was born on July 12, 1939 in Gonzales County to Jacinto and Inez Moreno. She was a member of the Catholic community and attended local schools.

Our mom was a hard working woman and had a heart of Gold that shines through the heart of her nine children. She leaves us with a mark in our hearts to love, respect, forgive and to take care of our families but most of all is to always keep our faith strong like her. As we continue on our journey as our mom wants us to stay strong, stay together and always stay in touch.

Mom's life was always being around her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook her favorite foods like fideo, beans, tortillas, and chili, mom was always ready to go shopping looking for jewelry, clothing and enjoyed eating out at one of her favorites like Luby's just to get her favorite meal. Food was her comfort zone and please don't forget her FRESH COFFEE. Mom was fortunate to retire early and to travel with her husband across various states as he worked as a truck driver. Her journey was an extraordinary memorable one because the love of her life was being surrounded by all her kids as she would say "Mi Pollitos.”

Mom leaves all of us her gift that we will always cherish and treasure Our Mothers Blessing in spanish “La Bendicion,” “Que Dios Los Bendiga” and the meaning in English is the sign of the cross, God bless you. We Love You Mama.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacinto and Inez Moreno; husband, Frank M. Garcia; brothers, Joe Moreno, Manuel Moreno, J.C.
