Jason Anthony Zumwalt, 38, of Harwood, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021. He was born July 12, 1982 in San Marcos, the son of Keith and Melinda Schaefer Zumwalt.
He attended Gonzales High School. He was a tradesman and worked on various construction projects. He loved hunting, fishing and animals especially dogs. Jason had a heart of gold and would anything for family and friends. He was a loving father and treasured time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Christine Nicole Zumwalt; parents: Keith and Melinda Zumwalt, of Harwood; daughters: Ezabell Zumwalt and Abigail Zumwalt; son: Taylor Zumwalt; sister: Julie Moen and husband, Brandon, of Luling; niece and nephew: Kelli Moen and Preston Moen; and grandfather: Willard Zumwalt of Harwood. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Anna Mae Zumwalt, Edward Schaefer and Wilma Cox.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Forrest Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Harwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Michael Zumwalt, Billy Zumwalt, Mike Williams, Jack Lookabill, Dayln Pape and Cal Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Zumwalt and Lane Zumwalt.
Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, chapel service and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
