John Paul “JP” Casares Herrera

John Paul “JP” Casares Herrera passed away, August 20th 2024, at the age of 46 in Austin, TX. 

John Paul or JP, as he was known, was born January 24, 1978 to Mary Jane and Joe Herrera in Seguin, Tx. JP had the biggest heart. He was always willing to help anyone in need in a heartbeat. He took pride in all his accomplishments he achieved in the past few years.  Jp was employed at Holmes Food. JP loved to joke around with others and was known for his sense of humor. He also loved to always be right and would debate on any subject. He enjoyed watching all sports, the Dallas Cowboys being his favorite team. In his free time he would thrift shop, at local garage sales or by going to Goodwill. Overall JP was an amazing man, husband, brother and father who will be missed dearly. 

John Paul is survived by his wife Rita Soto, 3 children, a son and daughter of San Antonio and daughter Brianna Herrera of Gonzales, Sisters, Shiela Herrera and Wanda Canales, brother Michael Casares of California, and  grandmother Josephina Herrera of Gonzales. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins 

JP was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Herrera. 

A Memoral service will be held at Scared Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas on Thursday, September 19th at 1:30PM.
