Lady Apaches sweep Memorial to even district record

The Gonzales Lady Apaches hosted San Antonio Memorial to close out the first half of district play Friday, Oct. 11.

The Lady Apaches swept San Antonio Memorial in three sets (25-8, 25-14, 25-17) to improve to 2-2 in district play.

Junior Isabella Ikard recorded team 17 kills and two blocks in the win over Memorial; junior Aubrey Lindemann led the team with five aces and 19 assists; and sophomores Blakely Mercer and Alaina Valle recorded digs.

The Lady Apaches need to season sweep either Memorial or San Antonio JFK to clinch a playoff berth; sweeping both Memorial and JFK would secure third place in the district.

Gonzales hosted La Vernia Tuesday, Oct. 15 to kick off the second half of district play.

The Lady Apaches will go on the road Friday, Oct 18 for a district match against Cuero.

The Cuero match starts at 5 p.m.
