Lady Apaches swept by La Vernia in district opener

The Gonzales Lady Apaches traveled to La Vernia for the first district match against the 16th-ranked La Vernia Lady Bears Friday, Sept. 27.
The Lady Apaches fell to La Vernia in three sets (8-25, 5-25, 10-25), dropping to 0-1 in district play.
Gonzales scored 23 total points in all sets combined.
The Lady Apaches returned home Tuesday, Oct. 1 for the home district opener against their rival, the Cuero Lady Gobblers.
The Gonzales Lady Apaches will go on the road to San Antonio to take on the JFK Lady Rockets Friday, Oct. 4 and will have bye Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Gonzales will host San Antonio Memorial Friday, Oct. 11 to close out the first half of district.
The San Antonio Memorial match starts at 5 p.m.
