The Gonzales Lady Apaches played their home district opener against their U.S. 183 rival, the Cuero Lady Gobblers, Tuesday, Oct 1.
The Lady Apaches fell to Cuero in three sets (13-25, 7-25, 7-25).
Gonzales will go back on the road Friday, Oct. 4 to San Antonio to take on the JFK Lady Rockets and will host San Antonio Memorial Friday, Oct. 11.
Last season, the Lady Apaches swept the San Antonio schools to finish third in the district.
The JFK game starts at 6:45 p.m. this Friday and the Memorial game kicks off at 5 p.m. next Friday.
