Lady Wildcats beat Prairie Lea in five sets; play-in set for both teams

The Waelder Lady Wildcats are one game away from getting back into the playoffs.

The Lady Wildcats beat the Prairie Lea Lady Indians in five sets (24-26, 29-27, 25-10, 18-25, 9-15).

Waelder and Prairie Lea will square-off in Luling for a play-in Saturday, Nov. 2; the Wildcats had to forfeit their Friday, Oct. 18 win against Prairie due to ineligibility.

The winner of the play-in will clinch the third final playoff spot in 1A District 28 and will take on Dime Box of 1A District 27 in the bi-district round.

The last time the Lady Wildcats made the playoffs was in 2020, they finished the season as area finalist and beating Runge in the bi-district round.
