Local bail bond company’s clients being targeted by scammers

Gonzales County Sheriff’s deputies have been made aware that clients for one Gonzales bail bond company are being targeted in a phone scam.

An unknown individual has been contacting individuals in Gonzales County who have had dealings with All Freedom Bail Bonds, GCSO reported. The unknown individual is claiming to be an investigator with a local law enforcement agency and demands money be sent or threatens the victim will be arrested.

The unknown individual is also attempting to have victims provide their identifying information such as social security number, date of birth, driver license number, etc.

Please remember the sheriff’s office and most law enforcement agencies will never call individuals asking for money or personal information over the phone. Anyone claiming otherwise is simply trying to scam victims out of money.

These type of scams typically pick up around the holidays and unfortunately claim many victims.
