The 98th Annual Luling Foundation Field Day will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15 at the Luling Foundation Demonstration Barn, 523 S. Mulberry, Luling.
This annual event is free and open to the public and includes a free breakfast and lunch provided by sponsors. Field day activities will include booths, exhibits, a tour of the foundation’s agriculture demonstration barn and garden facilities, speakers, practical demonstrations and an opportunity for networking. Up to *four CEUs will be offered; a bonus early bird IPM CEU session will be held from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. at the Raised Bed Garden on pest management. [*to receive the 4 CEUs (3 General+ 1 IPM bonus), attendees must attend both Early Bird Garden Session and the regular field day.]

• Garden Pest Management (Early Bird Session) -Dr. Larry Stein, Texas A&M Associate Head of the Department of Horticulture Sciences
• New Tech in Ag with Drone Demo – Dr. Megan Clayton, Texas A&M AgriLife Associate Professor and Extension Range Specialist, Department of Ecosystem Science & Management & Wayne morse, Caldwell County Agriculture & Natural Resources Extension Agent
• Pasture Assessment & Management – Dr. Joshua McGinty, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Associate Professor & Agronomist
• “Dinner tonight” Demo – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Family and community health agents, Dru Benevides (Guadalupe Co.), Gayle Bludau (Gonzales Co.), Sonia Coyle (Travis Co.), Elsie Lacy (Caldwell Co.)
Morning presentations will be followed by exhibit viewing, scholarship presentations and a catered barbecue lunch. Afternoon topics and presenters will be:
• Building Success with Ag Basics – Elizabeth tidwell, Texas A&M AgriLife Small Acreage Landowner Extension Program Specialist
• Farm & Ranch Security - Kenny Murchison, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Special Ranger
Presentations will be followed at 3 p.m. by optional agricultural equipment & sponsor demonstrations. Agencies supporting the field day include the Luling Foundation, Texas A&M AgriLife & Prairie View A&M University Extension Service, Texas Department of Agriculture, and the USDA.
